Adventure Travel Tip: Home Comforts on a Bike Tour

Your source for insider tips from travel pros

"When heading out on a multi-day bike tour (or just renting for more than 24 hours), don’t be afraid to bring your own saddle from home—the trip mechanic will gladly install it for you, and your bum will be ever-so grateful.

While the same goes for installing personal pedals to match your shoes (if you have them), don’t bother with racing shoes unless it’s an MTB combination—they’re too much of a pain to walk around in!"

—Peter Marshall has been running bike tours since the ‘70s, and has loved spending the last 10 years guiding in Cuba with CanBiCuba.
